Ohrid, Macedonia: (May, 1941) (hypothetical)

Following the disastrous Yugoslavian campaign in which the allies
lost a humiliating battle within a few weeks to the German forces,
Yugoslav army units have already gone into partisan activities.
The 'Wulkan' partisan group, committed to communist leader Tito, has
organized a hit and run operation against German supply convoys coming
from Skopje towards the Albanian border. Hitler hopes to send aid to
Mussolini, whose troops have invaded Greece. But the Greeks have already
sent word to the Yugoslavs that they can spare some help in their partisan
actions against the Reich.

This is a small scale scenario loosely based on historical fact. Tito and the
Partisans did make many successful hit and run raids and managed to free up at
one point as much as two thirds of Yugoslavia with only some minor aid from
the British. This scenario depicts a fictional Partisan raid, with some Greek
aid just for excitement. The map is based on the real city of Ohrid in Macedonia,
but most place names on the map are imaginary. The purpose of this scenario was
to focus on minor units, and events in WWII, often ignored by people obsessed
with making the 5932rd version of the Bulge battles (yawn!). The resistance
soldiers in most European countries deserve more attention, by far! 'West
Front' happily includes Partisan units that I have not seen included in any
great detail in any scenario I've seen posted thus far. Here's my contribution
to partisan warfare, a very important contribution to the allied cause without
which the war may have dragged on longer. Let's see more of these units in
WF scenarios!!
