"The Crucible of Caen"

This scenario is best played as Allied or against human opponent. It is well suited for team PBEM. Four players would be a good start - one Canadian player, one British player, and the German forces split between the 272nd Infantry Division and 1st SS Panzer, and the second German player commanding the 12 SS Panzer and Kampfgruppe von Luck.

Version 1.01 (changes since version 1.0)

 -Reduced the strength of the 1st SS Panther Battalion on Bourguebus ridge

 -Slightly reduced the numer of available German artillery pieces

 -Adjusted the victory conditions to favor the Allies more


Version 1.0 (changes since version 0.9)

 -Edited map file to elevate the Caen-Vimont Railway embankment.

 -Repositioned a portion of the 11th Armored Division's tanks. They are further east now.

 -Enlarged the cornfield outside of Cagny village.

 -Removed British scouts south of Cagny.

 -Set map conditions to "plowed fields." NOTE: The fields were not actually plowed on July 19th, however, normal West Front fields block line of sight too much. The cornfields on the open plain below Caen were only shoulder high during the battle. The Germans were able to effectively fire AT guns over the top of the corn.

 -Added a portion of the 503rd Heavy Panzer Abtielung to Kampfgruppe von Luck's OOB.

 -Delayed the arrival of 12th SS Panzer Division's reinforcements.
