                                   'THE DEVIL'S SHIELD'

SOURCES: 'The Devil's Shield' by Leo Kessler
                               'Purnell's History of W.W.II

'Historical' Notes: SS Kampfgruppe 'Wotan' has been rebuilt after it's stand at Cassino and is now led by Obersturmbanfuhrer Kuno Von Dodenburg. SS-Polizei General 'Devil' Donner gives them the task of plugging the gaps in his Aachen defences against the 1st 'Big Red One' and 30th 'Roosevelt's Butchers'* Infantry Divisions.

Design Notes: Maps are somewhat contrived due to the fictious nature of the main source but generally conform to Aachen and it's surrounds. Oob's are extrapolated from the
sources and are again not meant to be Historical in any way. AI for the Amis is fairly aggressive and they can do some damage to your Kampfgruppe, even your Tiger II's.

End Note: I am in the middle of putting the finishing touches to another Linked Campaign based around the Matildas of the 7th RTR and their role as spearhead of General Wavell's 1940/41 Desert offensive so this campaign has been a kind of dry-run for this more labour intensive endeavour. I hope you enjoy this 'mini' campaign.
