14.04.1977 6:00:01 - [United Kingdom]
Gameplay Notes

This scenario models submarine communications; namely satellite communications (SATCOM).

SATCOM technology allows the sharing of contacts and sensor information between platforms via satellite datalink. To use SATCOM, your submarine must be no deeper than periscope depth (-66ft/-20m). Open the special actions menu, locate the 'Raise SATCOM Antenna' special action, and click 'Execute'.

Since the challenge of this mission is to not only gain valuable intelligence on the Kiev, but also to escape undetected, the scenario will end around an hour after the intelligence is collected. If your submarine is unable to get in position within the alotted 12 hours--or is destroyed--the mission will be considered a failure.

By default, your submarine doctrine is set to dive on threat detection. While a conservative choice and a good idea for stealth, this may interfere with your ability to remain at periscope depth and communicate with other NATO assets. You can turn this off in the doctrine menu under 'Dive On Threat'.

You may find the 'Mark Position' feature useful in this scenario. To use it, right click a contact and choose 'Mark Position' from the context menu.
