OVERVIEW: The PRV-16 THIN SKIN B (1RL132) is a mobile, medium-range nodding height finding radar operating in the G-I (NATO) or C and X (IEEE) bands.


DETAILS: The PRV-16 is deployed as part of a ground control intercept or as part of a tactical air defense unit or mobile SAM unit. It compliments other air search and surveillance radars by providing target height information.  Associated weapons systems are the SA-4 GANEF, SA-6 GAINFUL and SA-8 GECKO SAMs.
