OVERVIEW: The S-600 radar is fixed 2D long-Range, transportable, ATC radar operating in the UHF band.

DETAILS: The S-600 was to fill gaps in Norway NADGE radar network. It was frequently paired with the S-613 height fiding radar to provide 3-D capability.  The UHF-band gave this radar the ability to penetrate the heaviest precipitation, and a long radar range at a moderate transmitted power.

NOTES: IOC 1968. Used by Norway, Yugoslavia, Malaysia, Kenya, Abu Dhabi, Oman, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, It was reported that some of the units sold to Yugoslavia were sold on to other counties in Africa. One system was used by the Uk in the Falklands immediately after the conflict ended.
