OVERVIEW: The AGM-65B MAVERICK is a short range, EO guided, rocket powered, air-to-ground missile with a 57 kg shaped charge warhead.

DETAILS: The AGM-65B Maverick is a tactical air-to-surface missile designed to strike a wide range of surface fixed or moving targets. It is a fire and forget weapon. After the missile is activated, the scene viewed by the guidance system appears on a cockpit television screen, allowing the pilot to select the target and launches the missile. After launch, the AGM-65B homes on the target by constantly matching the TV camera image to the locked target image. The AGM-65B's television guidance system has a screen magnification capability that enables the pilot to identify and lock on smaller and more distant targets.
