OVERVIEW:  The SA-8a GECKO mod 0 (9K33 Osa-M, 'Wasp') is a mobile,  short-range, low-to-medium altitude, solid fuel, single stage, surface-to-air missile system  using command guidance with terminal semi-active radar homing (SARH), primarily intended to protect front-line manuver forces.   It is equipped with a 15 kg warhead.

DETAILS:  The SA-8 GECKO  was primarily intended to protect front line-armor and mechanized divisions.  A navalized version, the SA-N-8 is also in service.  Lethal radius against a F-4 Phantom target is 5 meters.
