OVERVIEW: The TRS-2215 is a mobile, 3-D phased array air defense radar operating in the E-F (NATO) or S (IEEE) bands.

DETAILS: The TRS-2215 features high-anti-clutter and anti-jamming capabilities.

NOTES: IOC 1981 (approx). The TRS-2215 is almost identical to the TRS 2230, the chief difference being the TRS 2230 is the fixed-site/relocatable variant, while the TRS-2215 is road, rail or air transportable. An order for the system was placed in 1988 and the units were delivered in 1993-95. Full operational readiness was achieved in 1998. An MLU program was ordered in 2009 and the system is expected to be operational into the 2020-ies. The Finnish designation is KAVA (Kaukovalvontatutka)
