OVERVIEW: The AN/TPQ-37 Firefinder is a mobile, short-to-medium-range, 3-D,  phased array artillery locating radar system operating in the E/F-band.  

DETAILS:   The AN/TPQ-37 Firefinder is designed to detect and track incoming artillery and rocket fire to determine the point of origin for counter-battery fire. The AN/TPQ-37 also tracks, corrects, and improves the fire of friendly weapons with registration and adjustment data.

NOTES:  The AN/TPQ-37 Firefinder is truck, C-130 and helo transportable. The U.S. Army combines the AN/TPQ-37 with the AN/TPQ- 36 to field an accurate and mobile Firefinder weapon-locating system. The AN/TPQ-36 would be deployed near the battle line, with the AN/TPQ-37 farther back in friendly territory.
