OVERVIEW: The YLC-2 is an long range, mobile, 3-D active phased array surveillance radar operating in the L band.

DETAILS:  The YLC-2/Type 305B radar is the standard search radar for the HQ-9 SAM system.  It is a development of Type 120 (also known as LLQ-120) radar.  It has a telescoping radar with an antenna height of 2.3 metres folded, and 7 metres unfolded, using a feed network of sixteen 230mm wave guides. It is similar in design to the US-made RIM-116 RAM system.Its ECCM features include frequency diversity.  It reportedly can incorporate information from other radars to establish a local radar net.
