OVERVIEW:  The SPO-23 airborne radar warning receiver (RWR) is a passive airborne sensor that detects and warns aircrew of hostile radars.  It operates in the NATO G-J bands.
  

DETAILS: 
  The SPO-23 is a digital system using two or four four-beam azimuth antennas as well as two elevation antennas to identify threats 360º coverage in azimuth and ±30º in
elevation. The system contains a 128 mode integral threat library.

NOTES: Replacement for the SPO-15.  Used on the MiG-21, -23, -29 and Su-22 aircraft, and to the Ka-50 and Ka-52 attack helicopters.
