OVERVIEW: The Kedah class corvettes are 2 shaft, diesel powered patrol vessels intended for  maritime surveillance and patrolling the EEZ.  

DETAILS: The Kedah class corvettes and modified MEKO 100 class.  Their hull and superstructures are shaped to reduce radar signature.  

Aviation facilities include a hanger and helicopter deck for a medium-sized (Super-Lynx) helo.  Small boat facilities include two cranes to launch the two small RHIB's.

Armament includes one Oto-Melara SR 3 in (76mm)/62 gun, one 30mm/82 OtoBreda/Mauser and two single 12.7mm MG's, Defensive systems include the sealion/sceptre ECM suite with SBROC Mk-36. 

The sensors include the TRS-3D/16ES PESA for Air/Surface search, Fire-Control is Contraves TMX radar & EO, Atlas Electronik 9600 nav radar, Rheinmetall TMEO, NDS-3060 sonar for obstacle avoidance and the Thales Sceptre-X ESM.
