OVERVIEW: The Akar class is a one-shaft, diesel powered replenisher oiler.

DETAILS: The Akar has 16000 tons oil fuel and the second unit in the class has 9980 tons of fuel, 2700 tons of water, 80 tons hub oil and 500m3 stores. They have one oil replenishment positions on both the port and starboard side.

The class has a helicopter deck for medium size helicopter. 

The weapons are on Akar a twin 76mm(3in)/50 gun and two Bofors 40mm/70 and on the Yarbay one Mk 15 Vulcan Phalanx and two Bofors 40mm/70.
