OVERVIEW: The COUNTRY class (Batch 2) is a COSAG-powered guided missile destroyer (DDG).

DETAILS:   The COUNTRY class (Batch 2) DDG used a combined steam and gas (COSAG) to power its two shafts. The class was designed as a hybrid cruiser-destroyer, with a much larger displacement orginally designed around the Sea Slug missile system. Its size gave the class capabilies as command ships, having more operations room space than later Type 42 destroyer.
