OVERVIEW: The SVERDLOV class CLC (Project 68U2) is a steam-powered light cruiser modified for the role of a command ship.

DETAILS:   Originally an all-gun vessel, the SVERDLOV class CL was the last last all-gun cruiser in commission by any navy.    The ADMIRAL SENYAVIN was the single Project 68U2 unit, and was modified by removing the "X" and "Y" turrets and replacing with a helo pad and hanger.   An SA-4 launcher and 4-30mm AK230 mounts were also added as part of this modification, as well additional command and communications facilities for use as flagships.
