OVERVIEW: The Vishnya class AGI is a two-shaft, diesel-powered  Intelligence Gathering Ship.

DETAILS:   The Vishnya class (Project 864) is a Intelligence Gathering Ship (AGI), and designated by the Soviet navy as an Communications Vessel (Sudno Svyazey)(SSV).  They are also known as the  Meridian class. These ships are large, purpose built ships designed for SIGINT and COMINT electronic intelligence.
