OVERVIEW: The ROPUCHA-class LST (Pr. 775) Large Landing Ship is a 2-shaft, diesel-powered LST.

DETAILS:   The ROPUCHA class is a beachable, general-purpose LST-type design with bow and stern ramps for unloading vehicles. Cargo capacity is 10 main battle tanks and 340 troops or 12 BTR and 340 troops or 3 main battle tanks, 3 2S9 Nona-S, 5 MT-LB, 4 army trucks and 313 troops or 500 tons of cargo

       Speed: 17.5 knts
       Range: 3,400 nm @ 18 knts; 4,000 nm @ 12 knts
       Complement: 98 crew, up to 340 troops
       

NOTES: IOC: 1991. Twenty-five units of the ROPUCHA class were completed by the former USSR from 1974-1988.  The KOSTIANTYN OLSHANSKY is the only ROPUCHA-class LST obtained by the Ukrainian navy in 1991.  It was formerly commissioned in the Soviet navy as BDK-56,  and was seized by Russia in March 2014 and commissioned in the Russian Navy.
