OVERVIEW: The Tacna (ex-HNLMS Amsterdam) AOR is a diesel-powered Fast Combat Support Ship for underway replenishment of fuel, ammunition, and supplies. 

DETAILS: 
The Amsterdam is a single-hull design, built to merchant ship standards, but is equipped with NBC damage control features.

HNLMS Amsterdam has four RAS stations and a stern refueling rig as well as VERTREP capabilities, allowing it to replenish up to four ships simultaneously: one ship on each side, one ship via the fuel hose at the stern and a vertical replenishment (VERTREP) via helicopter.

Aviation facilities include a hangar capable of handling 3 Lynx or Seakings or 2 EH101 Merlins. One helicopter spot on the helo deck.

Up to 44 additional personnel can embarked be for aviation, boarding teams, medical, or landing duties.
