OVERVIEW: The Bakassi-class guided missile patrol boat is a two shaft, diesel powered Offshore Patrol vessel.

DETAILS:  The Bakassi is an enlarged version of the Bizerte (P48)-class, and designated as a "Type P48S."   8 MM-40 Exocet SSM's and 2 Bofors 40mm/70 for weapons. The sensors of the Bakassi are 2 RacalDecca navigation radars, two Naja optronic systems and the DR-2000S EW suite. Two RIB's can be carried.

NOTES: IOC 1983.  One unit is class: BAKASSI (P104).  Refit in 2000 included removing the Exocet misslie, the EW equipment, new radars installed. Fitting new propellors and a funnel aft of the mainmast to replace the waterline exhaust.
