OVERVIEW: The VALIANT is a nuclear-powered patrol attack submarine (SSN).

DETAILS:  The VALIANT class were primarily used in the anti-submarine role.  They incorporated the rafting concept, to reduce machinery noise.  They also included a diesel-electric generator for silent running.
