OVERVIEW: The C-802 aka Noor is a medium-range, subsonic, solid fuel, active I-Band radar, air-or-ground launched anti-ship missile with a 165 kg SAP HE warhead. 

DETAILS: After the initial boost, the missile descends and approaches the target area using inertial navigation.  At an unknown distance from the projected target position, the missile activates its I-band radar.  After acquiring a target, the missile descends to approximately 6 meters and enters the terminal attack phase. The missile is claimed to have enhanced ECCM capability over its YJ-8/8A predecessor.

NOTES: The C-802 entered service in approximately 1995. It is similar to the YJ-8A/YJ-82, but with the sustainer motor replaced by a turbojet and fuel tank, significantly increasing range.
