OVERVIEW: The AIM-9M Sidewinder is a short-range, supersonic, infra-red guided (IR) air-to-air missile with a 10.15 kilogram warhead.   

DETAILS: The AIM-9M is an improved AIM-9L with enhanced countermeasures resistance and clutter rejection, as well as improved detection against low-signature targets.  It also features a smokeless  motor.
