OVERVIEW: The AGM-158B JASSM-ER (Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile) is an autonomous, long range, low observable, air-launched, turbofan-powered INS/GPS guided cruise missile with an IIR seeker. It has an omni-directional EMP warhead.

DETAILS:

The AGM-158B JASSM-ER is designed to destroy high-value, well-defended, fixed and re-locatable targets at extended ranges. It uses a GPS/Inertial Navigation System (INS) for mid-course guidance and an IIR seeker for terminal guidance. The missile cruises at either a high-level or low-level (500 meter) cruise altitude, followed by a steep dive into the target. The targeting system uses 3-D models of the intended target, coupled with GPS co-ordinates. Up to eight different targets can be stored in each missile.
