OVERVIEW: The AGM-122A Sidearm is a short-range, supersonic, air-to-ground anti-radiation missile with a 11.3 kilogram warhead.

DETAILS: The AGM-122A Sidearm was a modification of the AIM-9C created in the 1980's. Although was less capable than ARMs like the AGM-88 HARM, it was lighter, allowing it to be carried by helicopters as well as aircraft for use against low altitude anti-air threats such as the ZSU-23 and SA-8. The missile replaced the narrow-band radar seeker of the AIM-9C with a broader-band seeker. A "pitch up" maneuver after launce was also programed into the missile, to enable it to be launched from very low altitude.
