This series of Quick Battles is intended to serve as a laboratory to examine how technology,
tactics, and doctrine affect Beyond Visual Range (BVR) fighter-versus-fighter combat in CMO.
This plane set represents the AMRAAM era- the years immediately after the end of the Cold War.
The US-designed AIM-120 AMRAAM active radar homing missile partially solves the ‘SARH chicken’ problem
and should give an advantage to fighters so-equipped. The AIM-7 and other SARH types are still included as a loadout option,
where applicable, so one can test the difference in performance.
