OVERVIEW: The T.200 is a 400 kg French general-purpose high-explosive bomb designed for tactical air-to-ground strikes against soft and semi-hardened targets.

DETAIL: Developed in the Cold War period, the T.200 was part of France’s standard aerial bomb family, alongside lighter munitions like the T.100 and heavier units like the T.250 or T.500. It was produced by French defense industry suppliers for use by the Armée de l’Air (French Air Force) and various export customers. The bomb features a streamlined low-drag profile for compatibility with supersonic aircraft and improved ballistic accuracy.

It was typically equipped with mechanical or electrical nose and tail fuzes and configured for either direct impact or delayed detonation. The modular design allowed it to be adapted for various operational needs, including retarded delivery via parachute kits. The bomb's explosive composition varied by production lot, but typically included TNT or Composition B.

T.200 bombs were employed from aircraft such as the Mirage III, Mirage F1, Jaguar A, and Super Étendard. Missions included runway denial, troop concentration attacks, and strikes against depot or infrastructure targets, usually delivered from medium to low altitude.
