OVERVIEW: The Condib 70 is a 70 kg runway-penetration bomb developed in 1967, equipped with a hardened 43 kg shaped-charge warhead designed to crater concrete runways.

DETAIL: The Condib 70 uses a stout casing and retarder parachute to angle its shaped-charge warhead into runway surfaces before detonation. Typically released at around 300 ft altitude, a drogue parachute deploys, then a rocket motor fires to drive the warhead into the concrete. After a set delay, the warhead detonates to produce a crater approximately 5 m wide and 1.6 m deep effectively disabling the runway.

Used by South Africa and Greece. Compatible with a range of tactical aircraft, including the Mirage III/5, South African Cheetah, and Greek F‑4 Phantom, its operational role centered on suppressing enemy sortie generation.
