OVERVIEW: The BR-250 LDGP is a 250 kg low-drag general-purpose bomb used against soft and semi-hardened targets. It has a high-explosive warhead in a streamlined steel casing for aerodynamic stability. Optimized for low to medium-altitude release, it is compatible with a range of fixed-wing aircraft.

DETAIL: Developed originally by Spain and manufactured by Expal (now Rheinmetall Expal Munitions), the BR-250 is intended to serve as a cost-effective, unguided air-to-ground munition. The bomb's aerodynamic profile allows for precise ballistic characteristics, and it is commonly fitted with standard NATO-compliant fuzing systems. Its construction emphasizes modularity and low drag for use in various mission profiles.

The BR-250 is typically employed for direct attack missions against airfields, depots, convoys, or infantry positions. It is released from fighters or attack aircraft flying at low to medium altitudes, relying on ballistic trajectory to reach the target. Its lack of guidance is offset by massed delivery tactics or integration with targeting pods.
