OVERVIEW: The Fajr‑4 is an unguided, 333 mm surface‑to‑surface artillery rocket developed by Iran for tactical bombardment. It delivers a high‑explosive warhead to area and fortification targets at medium ranges.

DETAILS: The Fajr‑4 measures 4.95 m in length, weighs approximately 750 kg, and carries a 300 kg high‑explosive fragmentation warhead. It uses a double‑base solid propellant with a spin‑stabilized motor and impact fuzing. Its effective range spans 15–26 km for surface launches, aligning with Iranian tactical rocket doctrine. Designed for use in multiple launch rocket systems, it fills the mid‑range gap between Fajr‑1/3 and the longer‑range Fajr‑5 series.

Surface‑launched Fajr‑4 is deployed from tube launchers mounted on modified truck or trailer platforms. Payload and range settings are fixed before firing; salvo or single‑shot firing is executed via vehicle‑mounted electrical ignition.

It is operated by Army Ground Force rocket units, which manually set and orient launchers before electric ignition. Reload is manual using cradles and rockets are shipped in transport containers for battlefield use.
