OVERVIEW: The TR-122 is an Unguided, 122mm, surface-to-surface artillery rocket developed by Turkey for use in multiple launch rocket systems. It is designed to deliver high-explosive warheads against area targets at extended range.

DETAILS: Developed by ROKETSAN, the TR-122 is based on the Soviet-origin 122mm Grad rocket, with modernized design for increased range and accuracy. It features a fin-stabilized steel body, high-energy composite propellant, and a high-explosive fragmentation warhead. The maximum range is approximately 30 km, depending on launch elevation and conditions. The warhead uses impact or proximity fuzing for effective area saturation against personnel and light structures.

The rocket is designed for improved lethality and range over older 122mm systems and is compatible with Turkish launch platforms. It is stored and transported in sealed pods for rapid reloading.

It is launched from the T-122 Sakarya MLRS system using digital fire control systems. Rockets are fired singly or in salvos from pods of 20 tubes, mounted on a wheeled launcher vehicle.
