OVERVIEW: The Falaq‑2 is an unguided, 333 mm surface‑to‑surface artillery rocket developed by Iran’s Shahid Bagheri Industries (Aerospace Industries Organization). It delivers a heavy fragmentation warhead for point and area saturation effects.

DETAILS: The Falaq‑2 rocket is 1.82 m long and weighs approximately 255 kg, carrying a 120 kg warhead with ~60 kg of explosive. It uses a double-base solid propellant and is fin/spin-stabilized for stable ballistic performance. Maximum range is around 10.8 km, with effective fragmentation radius estimated at 300 m. Launch is via single-tube vehicle-mounted launchers derived from those used for Shahin‑series rockets.

The Falaq‑2 shares technical lineage with Iran’s Falaq‑1, Shahin‑1 and Shahin‑2 systems, using the same chassis family. The launch platform is a truck with a single, rear-mounted tube and electric firing capability.

The rocket is electrically fired from the rear-mounted tube via a vehicle-mounted control console. Reload involves manual tube swap and is supported by crew.
