OVERVIEW: The SRCR is a 90 mm (Short-Range Chaff Rocket) developed by Rafael for the Israeli Navy. It is designed to create a closely positioned chaff cloud to seduce radar-guided threats away from the vessel.

DETAILS: The SRCR is launched from fixed 90 mm decoy tubes aboard Israeli craft like the Sa’ar 4.5–class. It is part of Rafael’s layered decoy family, operating alongside MRCR and LRCR rockets. After launch, SRCR travels to a short-range altitude before dispersing radar-reflective dipole chaff that obscures or mimics the vessel’s radar signature. It is intended for use during close-in engagements, with a typical deployment radius of around 1.9 km.

FONCTION:
Fired from ship-mounted 90 mm SRCR launcher upon radar threat detection.
Reaches engagement standoff and disperses chaff cloud.
Creates a false radar target close to the ship to seduce incoming missiles.
