OVERVIEW: The LRCR is a 179mm (Long-Range Chaff Rocket), It is designed to counter radar-guided threats by deploying radar-reflective material to deceive tracking and seeker systems.

DETAILS: The LRCR is part of Rafael's naval chaff decoy system family, alongside the SRCR and MRCR variants, and is tailored for long-range engagements. It is launched from ship-mounted 179mm decoy launchers and is used by the Israeli Navy aboard Sa'ar 4.5 and Sa'ar 5 vessels. Once fired, the LRCR deploys a large chaff cloud designed to reflect enemy radar emissions, either creating false targets or obscuring the vessel's position. It enhances survivability by confusing the tracking logic of incoming radar-guided missiles and fire-control radars.

FONCTION:
Launched from a 179mm naval decoy launcher when radar threats are detected.
Ejects chaff payload at pre-set distances to form radar-reflective clouds.
Enemy radar-guided missiles are seduced or confused by the false radar return.
