OVERVIEW: The TSP‑60U is an 82 mm rocket-propelled naval chaff decoy introduced in 1971. It is designed to seduce radar-guided threats by dispersing radar-reflective dipoles at standoff range.

DETAILS: The TSP‑60U is one of two munitions used in the Russian PK‑16 deck-mounted decoy dispenser, the other being the infrared TST‑60U. The round measures approximately 653 mm in length, weighs about 8.3 kg, and carries around 1.85 kg of chaff. Upon firing, it travels 500–1,800 m before deploying its payload, creating a radar-reflective cloud to lure incoming seekers. It was developed by the Institute for Applied Physics in Novosibirsk and installed on numerous ship classes including Tarantul, Neustrashimy, Krivak, and Matka vessels.

FONCTION:
Launched from PK‑16 82 mm tubes when a radar threat is detected.
Propels to preset distance then releases chaff cloud.
Generates false radar reflections to seduce missiles away from the ship.
