OVERVIEW: SEALIR is an infrared naval decoy developed by Lacroix as part of its SEACLAD family. It is designed to seduce or confuse infrared-guided (IR) missiles by generating intense IR signatures mimicking those of ship exhausts or heat sources.

DETAILS: SEALIR is launched from Lacroix SYLENA decoy launchers, including SYLENA LW and Mk2. It deploys an advanced pyrotechnic flare composition designed to produce high-temperature infrared emissions in both MWIR and LWIR bands. The flare effect includes spectral shaping and intensity control, maximizing its effectiveness against advanced imaging IR seekers. SEALIR can operate alone or as part of a coordinated soft-kill response, deployed simultaneously with SEALEM (chaff) or SEALAT (acoustic) decoys, creating a multi-spectral deception shield.

FONCTION:
IR threat detected by onboard sensors or threat library.
Launcher deploys SEALIR round toward predicted intercept path.
IR flare payload ignites mid-air, forming false heat source to seduce or confuse missile guidance.
