OVERVIEW: DAGAIE Mk 2 LEM is a ship-launched, expendable chaff decoy designed for radar seduction of anti-ship missile seekers. It is fired from deck launchers to disperse radar-reflective chaff, creating false radar clouds that misguide missile trackers.

DETAILS: DAGAIE (Défense Anti‑Guidage Avancée des Intercepteurs Embarqués) is developed by Lacroix in cooperation with CSEE and France’s DGA. An upgrade from the Mk 1 the Mk 2 LEM (Leurre ÉlectroMagnétique / Electromagnetic Decoy) employs aluminized glass-fiber chaff that rapidly blooms, reaching optimum effectiveness against seekers in these frequency ranges. It supports a centroid (seduction) mode, programming chaff release at precise ranges aligned with missile seeker lock-on to break tracking.

FUNCTION:
It is launched from ship-mounted DAGAIE multi‑barrel launchers.
Once deployed, it disperses radar-reflective LEM chaff fibers.
This creates compact radar clouds at missile seeker lock-on zones, seducing missiles away from the vessel.

Platforms: Installed on French Navy frigates and aircraft carriers equipped with DAGAIE launch systems.
