OVERVIEW: The Mk 182 is a 112 mm seduction chaff round used in the U.S. Navy's Mark 36 Super Rapid Bloom Offboard Chaff (SRBOC) system. It deploys radar-reflective dipole chaff to mislead radar-guided threats.

DETAILS: The Mk 182 Mod 1 and Mod 2 are part of the SRBOC ammunition series. Fired from 112 mm mortar tubes in the Mk 36 SRBOC launch system, they provide a radar “seduction” effect by dispersing aluminum-coated fiberglass chaff.

FONCTION:
Launched from Mk 36 SRBOC 112 mm tubes on naval vessels.
Releases radar-reflective dipole chaff to create a seduction cloud.
Draws incoming radar-guided threats away from the ship.
