OVERVIEW: KT‑216 is an unguided, ship‑launched, expendable chaff rocket designed for radar distraction and seduction defense. Fired from PK‑10 decoy launcher systems, it generates radar-reflective clouds to mislead incoming missile seekers.

DETAILS: KT‑216 is part of the A3‑SR‑50 series, deployed via Russian-made PK‑10 120 mm launchers in configurations of 4, 8, 12, or 16 tubes . Each round measures approximately 1,226 mm and weighs around 25.5 kg, containing about 10 kg of radar-reflective chaff fibers. Launch sequences can be single-round, salvo, or ripple to create radar-deception clouds near the vessel.

KT‑216 are used aboard Indian Navy Talwar-class frigates, which carry four PK‑10 launchers and stock 120 chaff/IR rounds

FUNCTION:
It is launched from PK‑10 deck-mounted chaff-launcher tubes.
Once deployed, the rocket disperses radar-reflective fibers into the air.
This creates deceptive radar returns that seduce or distract incoming radar-guided missiles away from the vessel.
