OVERVIEW: The Type 1 Electric Jammer is a Japanese naval electronic warfare countermeasure munition designed to disrupt radar-guided threats. It is launched from shipboard decoy launchers to emit jamming signals that interfere with enemy radar systems.

DETAILS: Designated as 電波妨害弾1型 (Denpa Bōgai-dan 1-gata), the Type 1 Electric Jammer was introduced by the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force in 1995. It is an expendable active RF jammer deployed from the 130 mm Super Rapid Bloom Offboard Countermeasures (SRBOC) Mk 36 system. Once launched, the munition generates radar jamming signals in targeted frequency bands to degrade or deceive radar seekers of incoming anti-ship missiles. The system is part of the broader electronic warfare suite on JMSDF vessels and is triggered either manually or automatically based on onboard threat evaluation systems. It enhances survivability by disrupting radar acquisition and lock-on phases.

FONCTION:
Detect incoming radar-guided threats via ship sensors.
Launch the Type 1 Electric Jammer from the SRBOC Mk 36 launcher.
Dispense mid-air and emit RF jamming signals to interfere with enemy radar tracking.
