OVERVIEW: The Ultra-Barricade LR is a long-range naval countermeasure system designed to deploy chaff, infrared flares, or acoustic decoys at extended distances. It enhances soft-kill protection against radar- and IR-guided anti-ship missiles for surface combatants.

DETAILS: Developed in the 1990s by Wallop Defence Systems and later marketed under Ultra Electronics, the Ultra-Barricade LR (Long-Range) is a variant of the original Barricade system, featuring extended-range rockets. It uses 102 mm spin-stabilized rounds launched from modular deck-mounted triple-tube or multi-barrel systems. Each round is programmed to deploy its payload—chaff, infrared flares, or acoustic decoys—at preselected distances, typically several kilometers from the ship. The system is integrated into the ship's ESM and CMS, enabling both automated and manual launches in response to detected threats. The LR variant is optimized for larger coverage areas and earlier decoy deployment compared to the standard Barricade or lightweight variants.

FONCTION:
Detect incoming missile threats via onboard radar and infrared sensors.
Launch long-range Ultra-Barricade LR rockets from modular deck launchers.
Dispense countermeasure payloads (chaff, IR, acoustic) at extended range to disrupt enemy seeker targeting.
