OVERVIEW: The Nahshon-Shavit is an Israeli Special Electronic Mission Aircraft (SEMA) based on the Gulfstream G550 airframe, configured for signals intelligence (SIGINT) and electronic intelligence (ELINT) missions. It entered service in 2005 with the Israeli Air Force’s 122nd Squadron.

DETAILS: The Nahshon-Shavit is equipped with the EL/I-3001 Airborne Integrated SIGINT System (AISIS) developed by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), featuring radar reconnaissance and electronic signal interception capabilities. It includes a canoe-shaped lower fuselage fairing housing radar antennas, radio intercept equipment, onboard computing, data links, and satellite communications. The aircraft can identify and geolocate radar emissions over long distances, providing critical electronic intelligence for operational planning. Powered by two Rolls-Royce BR710 turbofan engines, it has a maximum speed of approximately 960 km/h, a patrol speed of 850 km/h, and a range around 11,800 km. The crew consists of about 12 personnel, including 10 mission operators.
