[2] This scenario makes sense only playing as the
[2] German side (I still haven´t mastered this waypoint
[2] system of the scenario editor...)
[2]
[2] It may be played in two versions:
[2]
[2] 1) Historical
[2] Von Spee tries to get away, as soon as he
[2] recognizes the battlecruisers in Port William. The
[2] British ships need some time to make steam, but
[2] they will try to hunt you down (as long as the AI
[2] tries to emulate Sturdee and doesn´t go mad as
[2] usual...)
[2]
[2] 2) Speculative (more interesting!)
[2] Von Spee knows about the battlecruiser force
[2] coaling at Port William and plans a surprise attack
[2] to kill these ships, even at the cost of his own
[2] squadron. Two modern capital ships are well worth
[2] the loss of two obsolete armored cruisers.
[2]
[2] The British do not expect the enemy to show up,
[2] their ships need two hours to make steam (except
[2] Kent, who is on 30 min notice). But they will be
[2] ready to fire.
[2]
[2] Mines may block the harbour entrance,
[2]
[2] Scenario created by arminpfano, based on the
[2] "Coronel" scenario by Metesky (I changed some of
[2] the ship data though).
[0] Destroy the two British battlecruisers. The loss of
[0] the whole squadron would be acceptable in
[0] exchange. Surviving ships should go to the
[0] Argentinian harbour of Puerto Belgrano 800
[0] miles north and scuttle there.
[0]
[0] Mines are suspected at the entrance of Port
[0] William, hopefully not too dangerous for
[0] attacking ships.
[1] Fight back the attack and get out of the harbour
[1] to hunt down the German ships. The sinking of
[1] the two armored cruisers is paramount.
[1]
[1] A line of electrical mindes is laid at the harbour
[1] entrance, controlled from shore. But it is unclear
[1] if this will work.
