This is a 15 turn scenario that plays quickly. It should be played with C/C turned
off and all other options turned on. This is slightly larger than the other Anna's War.
It is similar in some respects but different in others. If you like commando type battles,
this should be entertaining.
**

Anna Starinov was a Guerrilla Warfare and demolitions expert sent by the Soviets as an
advisor and trainer to the Republican forces during the Spanish Civil War. This scenario
is very loosely based upon actual events on the Ebro River in Spain during the Summer of
1938. It also attempts to show how an audacious attack by trained troops can breach very
strong defenses.
**

The "Pacos" or Spanish Special Forces North of the bridge and the force commander (A0) unit
have been trained by Anna. In the scenario, they have been given a "swim" speed. This means
that those units have the ability to swim across the Ebro River. In reality, these
infiltrators used small rafts to float their weapons while the soldiers swam the river.
**

The Nationalist forces across the Ebro were complacent; they believed the Ebro to be
secure from attack except at bridges. An audacious attack by the Republicans proved to be
a great surprise and resulted in a highly successful campaign.
**

Take command of the Republican side and devise an attack. You may wish to attack with the
Pacos first and follow-up with an infantry assault across the bridge. Or, vice-versa.
**

Beware! The Nationalist fascists, although complacent do patrol the river bank and their
are bunkers along the river that must be destroyed. You will receive a lot of points for
destroying these bunkers, the patrols, and other defenders. This is how to win the scenario.
