This utility will allow you to update your Launcher installation to accomodate the map data and art changes in version 1106i. There are two situations to be provided for. One is if you have not yet installed 1106i and the second is if you have. Also see the special instruction if you are playing a PBEM game

1106i not installed yet.
1. Run the 1106i installation.
2. Before you start the Launcher, drop the updater (Launcher_1106i_fix.exe) and the instructions file (this file, Launcher_updater_1106i.txt) into your Launcher folder.
3. Run the updater.
4. Start the Launcher and away you go.

1106i installed.
1. Run the 1106i installation again.
2. Before you start the Launcher, drop the updater (Launcher_1106i_fix.exe) and the instructions file (this file, Launcher_updater_1106i.txt) into your Launcher folder.
3. Run the updater.
4. Start the Launcher and away you go.

PBEM game. When you are playing by email there is a process for phasing in an update that is thought to avoid sync-bug problems. In this process, each player runs the replay under the old version of AE and then updates AE before running the turn. If you are going to do that, then you are still ok but the process is a bit more complicated. When you run the replay Launcher will have updated the map to the new date and started AE and then you run the replay. At this point you need to quit the game (save first if the IJ side) and quit the Launcher Then you can run the instructions above. Since this results in a map reset you will need to build the map for the correct date as shown in the most recent turn display (upper left portion of the Launcher window). Then you can perform a manual start of AE by clicking on the Launch AE (no map update) button. Proceed normally from this point.

A note about updating and data updates and code updates. In my PBEM game, which I used for the final testing of the utility, I chose not to accept the data base updates. Some folks have reported problems when doing this and I took the safe route (just say no). The map data/art are independent of this choice, that is, you get the map update no matter which answer you give.
