France has a long and accomplished history of successfully projecting military power in support of its national security goals from the American Revolution to the current war on terror. It does that by acquiring basing rights and staging small detachments of ground, air and naval forces that in the event of a crisis are in a better position to impact an outcome while more power is pushed into the theater. My hope is this one sided CMANO scenario will demostrate exactly that.
This scenario has three objectives.
The first is to experiment with a French order of battle that is stretched across many operational areas and having to manage and concentrate those resources to complete many tasks within a short period of time and a very rigid loss constraints.The second is to challenge the player by giving them a choice of special actions that has a chance of pushing them into a total victory or dismal defeat. Just meeting the minimal requirement will just lead to a simple victory.
Destroying all targets in your basic target sets will yield 1400 points (100 points per target) which is scored as a Minor Victory.
You lose 200 points for every lost aircraft or ship for the duration of the scenario.
The Sudanese Munitions mission will cost you 100 points but has the potential to give you 700 more. There are 4 Targets worth 200 points each.
The Libyan strikes will cost you 200 points but destroying all targeted aircraft will yield 1050 points.
The Syrian leadership strike is worth 1200 points. There is one target worth 1200. It will cost you 200.
The nuclear strike will score you 2700 but will cost you 1400. You get 100 points for each destroyed target.
The third and final objective is to continue to experiment with lua scripting to add more variability to a scenarios. There is a practical limit out of how many times a player will play a scenario but a little lua might add a few more hours of enjoyment which is the point.
