RE: Playing Italy

I've done it too, and have won. You have to play a bit greedy, and keep in mind Germany gets to go after you do. Having at least 150 MPP makes a big difference.

RE: Attacking Naval units in port

<t> Typically, the number values you see will be how much damage will be inflicted on the port itself, ie: the port is at strength level 10, and a 2 point hit will put it at 8. The percentage value is how much chance the ship in the port will be attacked, ie: 20% chance to hit the ship and I think ...

<t> Play around with the Diplomacy on this.....works best in player vs player though.<br/>

<r> Here is an interesting one. When I center Athens, Greece on the map, then hit 'P' to bring up the partisans, I get:<br/>
Failed(draw_unit_layer_to_buffer): Segmentation violation<br/>

I can go to other areas of the map and hit 'P', and it works normally. <br/>

This is very well done, makes me want to do an AAR! What size do you set your screenshots to? Yours are perfect in size. I am looking forward to your Barbarossa campaign.

RE: Romanian and Bulgarian entry

<t> I am thinking also, for Romania and Bulgaria, the logistics may not be in place to support a large army. If you keep playing this game, let us know if they do enter the war on your side. I would say if they don't by August 1941, then they won't. At the very least, that would be a great piece of ...

<t> Only if you are not invading USSR does it have any value. Spain really likes this, and if you conquer France and take the British Isle, Spain, irrc, will automatically join the Axis. I also like to point out, from my view, I have not had a successful campaign when I don't kill Russkies in ...

RE: AI U-boats acting recklessly

That is one spot I find the AI lacking. It's too easy to clear up the U-boat by 1940 with access to the British and French navies. I am guilty of not playing the Allies as of yet in SC3, but I will take your word that Axis U-boats are too aggressive before France is out of the war.

<t> Goodmongo has good advice! Also, the Italians usually can hold until the DAK arrives. Oh, what I do, is make sure to have 3 Italian armies leading the assault; the armies hold up much better than corps.<br/>

<t> Nope, either the two spots have lower that 5, or it's a bug. Or, all hexes around those two spots are full of units. Are these the free units on the purchased track, or are these units you bought? Africa isn't a home country, and new Italian units have to start in Italy. I was assuming the units ...

RE: Subs

<t> I find this version of Strategic Command the most weighted in the favor of DDs versus subs. It feels about right to me though, and I think we need quite a few more hours to see how it plays out. I am glad it's going live soon, as there isn't enough beta testing to determine if the balance on sub ...

RE: Barbarossa redux

I don't mind this game not being exact, as the abstract just won't let it happen. As long as it provides a reasonable historical bent, and is competitive, and FUN, I will accept what you give us. If I want something to model something closer to history WitE gives me that.
