Re: Sea of Japan Crisis - Standing Fast, 1985 -- new beta for testing
Just uploaded version two. Tweaked a few things like the position of the submarines, making the Koreas a no-navy zone for the Japanese, updating the orders, increased the penalty for Japanese losses, and added a coast guard OPV with a helicopter. Might be useful for tracking the Chinese ships, but ...

Thanks for the feedback.
Radars...yes, I'm assuming Japan has some of them on. The COMINT stations are simply part of the .inst file for the Japanese radars, so I didn't bother deleting them; they may have a role in later scenarios.

Re: Sea of Japan Crisis - Standing Fast, 1985 -- new beta for testing
Okay, thanks. It may just be I had an unusual test run with more failures than normal.

Pretty effective in my test as commented above. The AS-1 sunk 6 of the 8 chinese ships.
The Osa have no defense. The Destroyers/frigates group have decoys.

Re: Sea of Japan Crisis - Standing Fast, 1985 -- new beta for testing
Quick question...
When I was testing this, I noticed that the Japanese air-to-surface anti-ship missiles had a very low hit rate. (One time I fired eight and they all missed. Not "shot down by the Chinese"...they all just missed.) Anyone else experience this? Were they just terrible missiles or was ...

Sea of Japan Crisis - Standing Fast, 1985 -- new beta for testing
It's been a while since I've written any scenarios. Here's a new one...
The scenario assumes a limited, regional war between Japan and China in 1985. The short version is that Japan and China are mad at each other, Japan tries to punish China for some bad behavior by restricting its use of the Sea ...

Re: Operation Kingmaker: Insertion & Extraction in Caracas
I'm not sure how you can add an actual landing as a trigger. Unless it is "remain on station" for a certain amount of time, since the unit is not only in the zone, but staying in the zone (which it would do if it was landed). This would also cover the time needed to get the prisoner off the ...

Re: CMO v1.09 Public Beta - Build 1776
It may be a good time to revisit the effectiveness of Chinese, Russian and Iranian radar and SAM capability in a modern electronic battlefield— I’m not trying to start any controversy, it just appears there needs to be some adjustments in effectiveness.
I think some of these issues could be ...

Re: Question about comms disruption
Assuming the unit has not been damaged, you can control communications depending on the side the unit is assigned to. If a side is neutral or hostile to another side, it won't be talking to them, so whatever it sees on sensors, etc. will not be seen by that side (at least, not through the unit's ...

Re: Trump battleship
I recently watched the new version of this...people who play Command might like it. It's space opera, rather than hard sf or technothriller, but it's a lot of fun. The animation is excellent. Lots and lots eye of candy action sequences based on the lunatic concept that you could somehow fight World ...

Re: Trump battleship
[Removes funny but inflammatory remark about how we could name these ships.]
Interestingly, if people want to play around with this idea, the hypothetical CGN 21, ID #4447, which displaces about 25,000 tons, is not a bad starting point. I suspect the ship would have to be nuclear-powered to handle ...

Thought on how to model older ships
Just playing around with ideas...
The quality of the equipment used could have an effect on a battle. A ship built in 1985 might be in very different condition if the scenario takes place in a) a country that can afford proper maintenance in 1990 or b) a country that cannot afford proper ...

Re: [B1774] Freeze when trying to start or edit a scenario
That seems to fix the problem. I'll let you know if I need more help.
Thanks for the help. I appreciate it.
So, you overwrote the old command.exe?
You only have one executable?
In that case you are missing a dll.
It was included in B1706, just extract the dll in CMO folder.

Re: [B1774] Freeze when trying to start or edit a scenario
Command.exe has not been renamed.
The error message only showed up two times. The other times, the game simply stalls out when I try to load a file.
I did add the C:/Temp directory and it is showing a folder called EBWebView.
Does the Command.ini file tell you anything? Maybe the issue is there ...

Re: [B1774] Freeze when trying to start or edit a scenario
Did this issue appear immediately once you applied B1774, or after a while ?
It started right away.
I tried adding a C:/Temp directory and changing the ini file, but it still didn't work. However, the symptoms changed. Now the game will partly load a file and then stall. Also, I can cancel the ...

[RESOLVED][B1774] Freeze when trying to start or edit a scenario
I'm having the freeze issue some people reported with Build 1774. I load the game and when I try to start or edit a scenario, it freezes and the only thing I can do is use the task manager to kill the process. I've tried it about a dozen times. No joy. I'm not sure if there is something special ...

Re: Should biologics/false contacts always be added in scenarios that have submarines?
My experience has been that biologics and false contacts are usually identified fairly quickly. Even so, I generally add a few to scenarios with submarines or an ASW element. The ocean is a noisy place and it makes sense there will usually be a little bit of background clutter.
