Westwall scenario: AI needs some love

<t> Trying the scenario as the Germans for the first time, I was up for a challenge, but it seems that Western Allies AI as no clue on how to win, or even defend. <br/>
<br/>
At turn 5, the entire southern part of the front is abandoned except for a few units, I could sneak behind and retake ...

Italy (43045) OKW spawn in Marsala!

Turn 4, without me ever moving the OKW, it spawned in Marsala at the beginning of turn 4... and the icing on the cake... the town is surrounded! I have the save game available.

Beta 21.

RE: AI turn is taking forever

The ground combat phase is what seems to never finish. The AI seems awfully slow to calculate the movement of his units trying to conquer Sicily.

AI turn is taking forever

<t> Hi there!<br/>
<br/>
Just bought the game and I love the feeling of it. <br/>
<br/>
I'm trying to learn the ropes with the introduction scenario (Germany) and I notice a spectacularly long AI turn in each of the first 4 turns. Turn 3 took 15 minutes.<br/>
<br/>
It makes me wonder what it ...

RE: Changing production

<t> You guys have probably heard that a thousand times, but I think that the historical production schemes are ok for a historical-semi historical campaign. <br/>
<br/>
However, I also believe that admin points could/should be used to influence production at home. A system where you can spend an ...

RE: Advice

<t> I was simply telling that I agreed with most of your point but that you had to put the numbers you shown in perspective, since they seem to not really be representative of the cold hard truth of the game: telling that the Allied can indeed take the luftwaffe right on, but with less extent that ...

RE: Advice

<t> The only thing with this example HARD, is that on the first day of the game, I would yell: exploit!!! There is no way the luftwaffe player could do anything against an all out assault from the raf and ussaf. And an experienced allied player kinda knows where all the "lucrative" airfields are ...

RE: Ai Tests

I don't quite understand the idea behind this. Why pull off some groups? If the german player gets to play all the way until the end, where is the problem to give them historically correct gruppens?

RE: Ai Tests

I always wondered if someone was fool enough to actually make it all the way to may 1945. Personnaly, I made it to june 1944 only once, and I thought it was quite an accomplissement.

I can always offer you my help if you need more beta tester... ;)

RE: Ai Tests

At least the TA 152 can hold his ground, but you're right, an Allied player you find the game somewhat easy...

To be sure, though, you should make the test a couple of times, since it can be an odd result, even for the AI.

<t> To flanyboy:<br/>

If you never saw the old game, you will be amazed at the amount of detail there is in this game, especially the new version. The old one was already quite something. <br/>
<br/>
But the game itself do not seem to change drastically. It's just a really big improvement ...
