RE: Operation Sealion - Rocketman vs. AI

Thanks for the AAR, I enjoyed playing Sealion against the AI as well. Has anyone played it on PBEM?

RE: Sealion questions

<t> I think the numbers in the sea are related to supply levels? As if you snag a port such as Dover or Ramsgate near to Calais, you get higher numbers, which steadily climb, due to the supply chain being establised perhaps? Where as, if memory serves me correctly from my stab at Sealion, if you ...

RE: This looks like a swell game, Why no activity?

<t> I hope the game has attracted the following it deserves. The game has a great feel, and despite the relative paucity of scenarios, there is enough depth and variants to keep you going for a while. I guess most of the questions regarding the game were answered pretty early on, and some excellent ...

<t> Below is the reply Rocketman gave me when I had the same question:<br/>

You can save the game mid-turn if you don't use the PBEM option. Just choose the password option and then both you and your opponent can save as often as you want during the turn. The no save option for the PBEM ...

RE: Feature suggestion list

The ability to save a game midway through a PBEM turn would be great, as sometimes it would be nice to save halfway through and come back, I couldn't find this feature?

RE: Advice on WW 2 and WW1 Novels

<t> 'The Middle Parts of Fortune' by Frederic Manning is one of my favourite novels. Set in WW1, first published in 1929 and written by a veteran of the Somme. Not an all actioner by any means, but a great portrait of some of the men who fought on the Western Front. Seen as a classic, but certainly ...

Thanks again Barthheart for the information. One last question, does the over-stacking penalty apply when conducting an airstrike or bombardment of overstacked troops?

RE: Supply

<t> So rather than keeping your HQs too close to the front line, I should try and space Army HQs somewhere between the advancing Corps and OKH in Fall Gelb, and then the Corps HQs again somewhere between the Divisions and the Army HQ? And limit the supply of some units which are not close to the ...

RE: Detailed Combat Example

<t> Thank you for the very clear explanation of what happens in combat. I have a couple of other questions relating to combat. When artillery or aircraft attack a stack with multiple units, they don't always appear to do equal damage to each unit. I haven't looked at it systematically yet, and so it ...

Error in PBEM replay

<t> Myself and another player both have the Matrix version of the BG games, and we have been trying to PBEM a Nappy scenario. However, each time we try to, I get a replay error where the first file I get replays the first couple of moves before reporting an error and reverting to remote control.<br ...

RE: BG Napoleon in Russia questions

<t> Thanks for the responses, it just appears the AI leaves infantry in column way too close to the action, which as you say almost always leads it to become disrupted. But I am definitely seeing Russian columns moving into firing range which are undisrupted.<br/>

RE: PBEM opponent full battles

Hi,

I would be interested in a PBEM, any battle and any side, if you don't have an opponent yet.

Just send me an email at muileach (at) hotmail (dot) com and we can discuss.

<t> Great stuff[&o]. I'll download the new versions and start my AI Jena game as the Prussians again, and report back. It still may not be able to get a victory against a human player given the historic weight of French forces, especially if they use the full extent of the map to manouevre. But you ...

RE: "Invasion of Prussia" available for download

<t> Well I'm really enjoying the battle of Jena at the moment as the French v AI. Skirmishers seem to take casualties more easily from line infantry than BG Waterloo and NIR, was this modelled? Lack of big VP locations is interesting. It means that a strategy of inflicting more casualties can win ...
